General Infomation
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering is responsible for leading, managing, and developing the Faculty's academic, research, and professional activities. The position provides strategic direction for academic programs, faculty development, applied research, and industry collaboration in engineering-related fields.
The Dean plays a key role in aligning the Faculty's academic development with industry needs and emerging technological trends, strengthening education quality, promoting applied research, and expanding partnerships with enterprises and research and technology organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the Faculty's operations and performance before the University Management Board.
- Develop strategic and annual plans for the Faculty in alignment with the University's development strategy.
- Lead and manage academic activities across programs and disciplines under the Faculty.
- Direct the development, review, and continuous improvement of curricula, course outlines, textbooks, and teaching materials.
- Promote innovative teaching, assessment methods, and educational quality improvement to ensure achievement of learning outcomes.
- Manage, allocate responsibilities to, evaluate, and develop faculty members and staff.
- Build a highly qualified academic team aligned with the Faculty's development direction.
- Promote research, technology development, and technology transfer activities in engineering-related fields.
- Develop partnerships with enterprises, research institutions, technology organizations, and domestic and international partners.
- Coordinate student recruitment, career orientation, and industry engagement activities.
- Lead the Faculty's quality assurance, accreditation, and continuous improvement activities.
- Effectively manage laboratories, facilities, and equipment supporting teaching and research.
- Participate in the development and implementation of annual KPIs, academic plans, and strategic initiatives.
- Perform other duties assigned by the University Management Board.
Job Requierements
Education
- Hold a PhD or higher in Engineering or a relevant discipline aligned with the Faculty’s academic programs.
- Meet the required standards of foreign language and information technology proficiency.
Experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience in higher education.
- Experience in leading or managing a Faculty, Department, or equivalent academic management position is preferred.
- Experience in academic management, program development, scientific research, industry collaboration, or technology transfer is an advantage.
